Thanatos Bot ("the Bot", "we", "us") is a Discord bot providing Rust server management services. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. By using the Bot or this website, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide our services:

• Discord User ID — to identify users across commands and the economy system.
• Discord Server (Guild) ID — to associate settings, subscriptions, and data with the correct server.
• Rust Gamertag — when you voluntarily link your account via /economy link.
• RCON credentials — host, port, and password, stored encrypted using AES-256 (Fernet). Never stored in plaintext.
• In-game events — kills, deaths, and other game events parsed via RCON for kill feed and economy purposes.
• Economy transactions — T-CRED balances, purchases, and donations within the Bot.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Delivering Bot features: kill feed, economy, events, RCON commands.
• Processing T-CRED transactions and subscription purchases.
• Maintaining server configuration and admin settings.
• Debugging and improving the service.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored in a private, secured database hosted on a dedicated server. RCON passwords are encrypted at rest using symmetric encryption. Access to the database is restricted to the Bot process and authorized administrators only.

We apply reasonable technical measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

Data associated with your Discord server is retained for as long as the Bot remains in your server. When you remove the Bot or request deletion, your server data will be purged within 30 days. Individual user data (economy balance, linked gamertag) can be removed on request.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Object to certain types of processing.

7. Third-Party Services

The Bot integrates with Discord (discord.com) and may optionally integrate with Twitch for stream alerts. These services have their own privacy policies which govern their data practices. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

8. Children

The Bot is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 13 years of age. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us for immediate removal.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
