Setup Guide
Get Thanatos running on your Rust Console Edition server in under 10 minutes. Follow each step in order — the setup wizard handles most of the heavy lifting automatically.
What You Need Before Starting
Make sure you have everything ready before inviting the bot.
- 1
A Discord server where you are the owner or have Manage Server permission
- 2
A Rust Console Edition server with RCON enabled
Go to your server provider panel → Settings → RCON. Enable it and note down the IP address, port, and password.
- 3
Your server's RCON credentials
You will need: Host (e.g. 123.456.78.9), Port (e.g. 28016), and the RCON password you set.
Add Thanatos to Your Server
Click the invite link below and add the bot to your Discord server.
- 1
Click "Add to Discord" on the homepage or in the Pricing page
You will be redirected to Discord's authorization page.
- 2
Select your server from the dropdown
You must have the "Manage Server" permission on that server.
- 3
Approve all requested permissions
Thanatos needs: Manage Channels, Manage Roles, Send Messages, Embed Links, Read Message History. These are required to auto-create channels and post live feeds.
- 4
Click Authorize — the bot will appear in your server member list
Automatic Channel & Category Creation
One single command creates your core server structure in seconds, then you add optional channels at your own pace.
- 1
Go to any text channel in your Discord server
- 2
Type /setup and press Enter
A modal will appear asking for your in-game server name (e.g. "Annunitum" or "My Rust Server"). This name will appear in kill feed messages and announcements.
- 3
Thanatos creates 6 essential channels in 3 categories
🚀 GET STARTED — 📌 server-guide (read-only onboarding), 🛡️ mod-log (admin-only audit trail)
⚔️ EVENTS & FEEDS — ⚔️ kill-feed (live combat tracking), 📡 global-events (events: cargo, bradley, heli…)
🛟 SUPPORT & HELP — 🙋 player-support (ticket panel for players), 🛟 thanatos-support (admin ticket panel → Thanatos Support Guild)
- 4
All channels are configured with proper read-only / admin-only permissions automatically
The kill feed channel is automatically linked to the bot during setup — no additional command needed.
- 5
After setup, a private guide shows you how to add optional channels via /channel_hub
Economy (shop, bank, casino), Clans, Community, Notifications and more — each channel is one click away.
Commands used in this step
/setupRun the interactive setup wizard (administrator only)Thanatos Support — We Resolve Every Issue
The #thanatos-support channel (admin-only) is created automatically by /setup. One click sends your ticket directly to the Thanatos team — no AI, no auto-reply, no unanswered messages.
- 1
The channel and ticket panel are ready the moment /setup completes
No extra command needed. The 🎫 Open a Ticket button is always visible in the channel — just click it whenever something goes wrong.
- 2
Describe your issue in a short form — we take it from there
Tell us which command broke, what you expected, and what happened instead. The more detail you give, the faster we fix it. All information stays private between you and the Thanatos team.
- 3
Your ticket lands instantly in the Thanatos Support Guild and is read by a real person
The Thanatos team reviews every single ticket. We respond as fast as possible — typically within 24 hours — and we keep the ticket open until the problem is fully resolved. No deadline, no auto-close.
- 4
We answer every question and solve every problem — that is our commitment
Configuration issues, broken commands, RCON problems, economy bugs, events not firing — whatever it is, we dig into it and fix it with you. You are never left without a response.
- 5
Players also get a #player-support channel with their own private ticket system
Players click the button, pick a category (Bug / Economy / Report / Ban Appeal / General), describe their issue, and a private ticket channel is created — visible only to the player and your staff team.
Expand Your Server with /channel_hub
After setup, use /channel_hub to assign or auto-create any optional channel. Each category is one interactive panel.
- 1
Type /channel_hub in Discord
An interactive panel opens. Pick a category from the dropdown: Game Feeds, Economy, Content, Community, Moderation, Notifications, or Clan.
- 2
For each channel: assign an existing channel or click Create to generate one automatically
When you click Create, the bot creates the channel with the correct name, category, topic, and permissions — no manual configuration needed.
- 3
Economy — shop, bank, casino
Each economy channel gets a live guide posted automatically (shop catalogue, bank commands, casino rules).
- 4
Game Feeds — bounties, arena duels, activity feed, raid alerts
Raid alerts and activity feed are read-only. Arena and bounties allow player interactions.
- 5
Clans — registry, chat, leaderboard, wars, treasury, announcements, council
Use the "Clan" group in /channel_hub to create the entire clan domain in one shot.
- 6
Community — general, welcome/goodbye, build showcase, starboard, player support, bug reports
The welcome channel will automatically post join and leave cards when players enter or leave the server.

RCON is required for kill feeds, live player activity, shop deliveries, events, and in-game announcements.
- 1
Open the admin dashboard with /admin
- 2
Go to Server → RCON Config
A form will appear where you enter your RCON details.
- 3
Enter your Host, Port, and Password
Host: your server IP (e.g. 123.456.78.9)
Port: typically 28016 for Rust Console Edition
Password: the RCON password set in your server panel
- 4
Click Save — Thanatos will test the connection automatically
You will see ✅ Connected if successful. If not, double-check that RCON is enabled in your server settings and that the firewall allows the RCON port.
- 5
Verify with /killfeed probe
This command sends a test query to RCON and confirms the kill feed pipeline is live.
Commands used in this step
/adminOpen the admin control panel/killfeed probeTest the RCON connection for kill feedStream Live Combat Events to Discord
Once RCON is connected and /setup is done, the kill feed channel is already linked. Use these commands to configure and monitor it.
- 1
The #kill-feed channel is linked automatically during /setup — no extra step needed
The bot sends a confirmation message in the channel as soon as setup completes.
- 2
Run /killfeed probe to verify the RCON connection is live
This command sends a test query to RCON and confirms the kill feed pipeline is active. You will see a health report embed.
- 3
Adjust killfeed behavior with /killfeed config set
tick_delay — how often kills are fetched (default 3s)
pvp_only_mode — show only player-vs-player kills (hide NPC kills)
chat_command_mode — how the bot posts in-game: auto / prefer global.say / say only
- 4
Check real-time killfeed metrics with /killfeed stats
Shows total kills processed, queue size, and pipeline health.

Each player links their Discord account to their in-game name to unlock the economy, stats, and all player features.
- 1
Each player types /economy link <gamertag> in Discord
The gamertag must match their in-game name. It does not have to be case-perfect — the bot auto-corrects the casing the first time the player appears in a kill or death event on the server.
- 2
Players receive a 1,000 T-CRED welcome bonus on first link
- 3
Linked players can now use /bank, /casino, /shop, /stats, /bounty, /clan, /raid and more
Kill rewards (100 T-CRED per PvP kill) are also credited automatically once linked.
- 4
Players can save their base location with /home (must be in-game)
After saving, they can teleport back at any time using the quick-chat phrase "we need beds". The bot retrieves their live position via RCON — no manual coordinate entry required.
Commands used in this step
/economy link <gamertag>Link Discord account to in-game Rust name (case auto-corrected from RCON events)/economy balanceCheck T-CRED balance/stats dashboardView personal stats dashboard/homeSave current in-game base position for home teleportActivate Server Events and Optional Features
All events and optional systems are configured through the admin dashboard.
- 1
Run /event to open the Event Dashboard
From here you can start Blood Rush (Scientist Hunt), Iron Descent (Crate Drops), Abyssal Protocol (Underwater Labs), Arena 1v1, and manage the automatic event rotation.
- 2
Run /novarace to configure the multi-stage race (Horse → Rowboat → Motorbike → Minicopter)
Set the 9 race coordinates with /novarace set_point (requires being in-game). Choose a registration channel with /novarace set_channel, enable with /novarace set_enabled True, then open registrations with /novarace start.
- 3
Use /kill_rewards to configure T-CRED per kill for your guild
Set custom T-CRED amounts for PVP kills (/kill_rewards set_pvp) and scientist kills (/kill_rewards set_scientist). Defaults are 100 and 25 respectively.
- 4
Use /admin to access the full admin control panel
Covers RCON console, economy season management, VIP settings, shop prices, channel refresh, and clan guide setup — all in one interactive panel.
- 5
Enable night vote with /nightvote enable (optional)
Players vote to skip the night when the server reaches in-game 18:00. Set the channel first with /nightvote setchannel.
- 6
Create a clan with /clan_create or open the full clan menu with /clan
Clan creation costs 1,000 T-CRED. Players can join with /clan_join after receiving an invite.

Everything raid-related is in one interactive menu. Players can calculate explosive costs, buy base protection, view server raid activity, and register their base for personal Discord DM alerts.
- 1
Players open the Raid Hub with /raid
The menu has four sections: 💣 Calculator (explosive cost breakdown), 🛡️ Protection (purchase a timed zone via RCON), 📊 Activity (real-time explosive detection feed), and 🔔 Base Alert (personal DM notification).
- 2
🔔 Base Alert — Players register their base coordinates for instant DM alerts
The player must be in-game at their base. The bot captures their live position via RCON — no manual coordinate entry. They choose a duration (12h / 24h / 48h). When explosives are detected nearby and the suspected attacker is within the configured radius, the player receives a Discord DM with the grid reference and distance.
- 3
Admins configure Base Alert pricing and radius from /admin → Economy
Use the "🔔 Base Alert" button to enable/disable the feature. Use "💰 Alert Prices" to set T-CRED prices per duration (set to 0 for free) and the detection radius (default 150m, range 50–500m).
- 4
The #raid-alerts channel receives server-wide explosive activity reports
The raid detection engine parses RCON logs for C4, Rockets, Satchels and Grenades. When activity reaches a severity threshold it posts a raid embed in the raid-alerts channel. Use /raidtest to simulate an alert and verify the setup.
